“Business Innovation in Medical Diagnostics” will be the focus of the Southern New England Entrepreneurs Forum (SNEEF) on Thursday, October 11, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Advanced Technology and Manufacturing Center, 151 Martine Street, Fall River.
SNEEF is teaming up with the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center to present a case study out of the fast-moving field of medical diagnostics, specifically point-of-care testing on CarePoint Solutions. The firm is engaged in the business of manufacturing and supplying “controls” for measuring the accuracy of medical diagnostic instruments. These chemicals are used frequently – often once per shift – and their use is mandated by federal law in the U.S. and in most foreign jurisdictions. The worldwide market is about $1.5 billion.
Bill Donohue, President and CEO of CarePoint Solutions, will make the presentation. He has more than 25 years of successes in product commercialization, new product launches, direct marketing, sales force and channel management, KOL and customer development, regulatory affairs, public relations, and brand management — all supported by a strong technical aptitude and educational foundation in human physiology.
Dr. Steve Bogen, MD PhD, Medical Director, Clinical Chemistry at Tufts Medical Center, will serve as a panelist. In addition to his medical specialties Dr. Bogen holds numerous patents on medical devices. Also serving on the panel is Dr. Robert Cody, Dean of Science, Technology, Mathematics and Business at Cape Cod Community College. Dr. Cody holds a PhD in Chemistry and has more than 25 years of experience in the industrial sector.
Cost for non-SNEEF members is $20, SNEEF members free. Register at www.SNEEF.edu.
