Welcome to the Cape Cod Technology Council! Since 1996 we have served our region as leaders, experts and advisors on a variety of issues impacting the development of technology entrepreneurship, infrastructure and education. Our leadership team, Board of Directors, and members are professionals active throughout our community. Our programs are designed to highlight technology accomplishments, and to provide resources and inspiration for those seeking to advance their own technology projects.
The tech landscape on Cape Cod is much broader than information technology. For example, there is a world-renowned marine science community in Woods Hole, companies providing products and services in marine technology, environmental remediation, and home automation sectors, and government agencies applying 21st century methodologies to solving regional pollution and growth management issues. World-class middle-mile broadband service is available. Education is using technology to focus on the unique environment of our peninsula and the surrounding waters. Our creative economy is represented by web developers, graphic designers, videographers and technical writers who serve the region and the world at large.
Some of our accomplishments:
- Advocacy and support for the OpenCape fiber network
- Founding member of the SmarterCape Partnership
Repeal of the “Tech Tax” that threatened tech growth in the Commonwealth - Creation and launch of the JuniorTech program for youth tech education
- Support and advising for the CLAMS library network
Co-founders of Entrepreneurs Weekend (now Startup Weekend)
We actively participate in these initiatives:
- SmarterCape Partnership
- STEM Regional Network
- Cape Cod Makers
Startup Weekend - Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) and Regional Policy Plan (RPP) prepared by the Cape Cod Commission
208 Water Plan - Come to one of our engaging First Friday Speaker Series breakfasts, participate in our Infrastructure Committee, and mingle with the geeks (we are loads of fun) at a Tech Council Social. We invite you to join us as we look forward to improving the quality of life on Cape Cod through the smart application of technology innovation and entrepreneurship.
