The Southern New England Entrepreneurs Forum (SNEEF) will host its annual “Summer Networking and Clam Boil Dinner” event on Thursday, June 14, 5:30 p.m., Advanced Technology and Manufacturing Center (ATMC), 151 Martine Street in Fall River.
This final event of SNEEF’s 2011-12 programming year will celebrate innovation and entrepreneurship in Southeastern Massachusetts. Bill Staby, founder and CEO of Resolute Marine Energy (RME), will describe innovation and entrepreneurship in Southeastern Massachusetts through the work of his company, which was founded at the ATMC. RME is developing technologies that produce clean energy through ocean waves.
An experienced manager of early-stage technology companies, Staby is helping shape technical standards for the marine renewable energy industry in his roles as Chairman of the U.S. delegation to IEC TC-114 and U.S. representative to its Conformity Assessment Board (CAB). He is an active member of the Ocean Renewable Energy Coalition (OREC), the Washington-based industry trade association and is a member of the Advisory Board of the University of North Carolina-Coastal Studies Institute.
Previously, Staby was an investment banker at First Boston in its Electric Utility Group and later co-head of the North American mergers and acquisitions team at Rabobank International. In 2010 he was a featured speaker at TEDx Boston.
