On Friday, June 7th, Judith Holt will show just how easy it is to embrace green living.
A designer, Judith has worked with over 15 churches across the Cape to help them become more energy efficient. She has also supported the host for our June First Friday – Heritage Museums & Gardens in Sandwich – in carrying out a sustainability strategic plan for the nonprofit’s 100-acre property. And she has analyzed the energy efficiency of 58 of the Mass Audubon bird sanctuaries across the state.
This work will inform her talk at the Tech Council, serving as concrete examples of how anyone can take practical steps towards making their home or business more efficient.
In retirement, Judith may be busier than ever before as she uses her time, talent, and expertise to support others in reducing their impacts on the environment.
“I am motivated to do whatever I can with my time to change climate conditions in our world,” Judith said. “We are all contributing to what is causing climate change and we can all do something about it.”
For over 30 years, Judith has coupled her technical background in energy management and solar energy with education and training to teach what it is we need to do to curb climate change.
She has worked with hundreds of homeowners; presented before the U.S. Senate as well as the American Institute of Architects; and was appointed a Smithsonian Associate for her work in solar.
Judith wrote the first national installation standard for solar thermal applications with the Department of Energy and the American Testing of Materials. Her work with Buckminster Fuller as Executive Director of World Games reached thousands across the United States.
