Apr 13: UMASS Dartmouth presents Southcoast eCommerce 2011 Conference

BEST PRACTICES IN ECOMMERCE ON DISPLAY AT DAYLONG CONFERENCE

Registration for the daylong conference begins immediately.

According to the most recent government reports, eCommerce has grown faster than total economic activity in most economic sectors. The online sale of clothing alone is a $17 billion industry, but retail ecommerce is still a small part of total retail sales. The eCommerce Network at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth has organized a conference for April 13, 2011 (from 8:30 A.M. to 4:15 P.M.). The conference will take place at Woodland Commons Conference Center at UMass Dartmouth. The conference is day-long, parking and meals included, and will focus on the best practices in electronic trade, with a special presentation on another one of this decade’s hottest developments such as social media marketing, latest in search engine optimization, developing sales leads from web sites, and building online trust. Speakers are business experts with trusted experience in doing business online.

Local businesspeople from a diverse range of fields are expected to be in attendance. The registration fee is $55 per individual. Registration ends March 31st. Professor Fahri Karakaya founded the Southeastern Massachusetts eCommerce Network in the year 2000. Since its inception, it has hosted more than 50 speaker series. The last daylong conference was in 2007, when Dr. Karakaya presented the second regional survey on eCommerce use. The Network is an outreach program of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
