Members from the CCTC Infrastructure Committee have been participating in meetings of the Fix Coalition – a gathering or regional organizations convened by the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce. The bottom line – our aging bridges need to be replaced, and we need to begin planning now.
Any solution for the bridge problem must recognize the capacity limits of the Cape itself. A huge, wide bridge to serve both lower and upper Cape areas is not a good idea. Ideally, both bridges and their approaches would be replaced with modern structures, with walking and biking options, which would minimize land taking and environmental disruption.
