SNEEF: How a Fall River Startup Went Public

February 8, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

The story of how local startup Aquabotix went public will be featured at the Southern New England Entrepreneurs Forum (SNEEF) on Thursday, February 8, 5:30-8:00 p.m., Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), 151 Martine Street, Fall River.

In 2011, Durval Tavares founded Aquabotix in Fall River and built this successful technology startup. Aquabotix is a manufacturer of underwater vehicles, and in 2017 the company went public on the Australian stock exchange.  Tavares will describe his journey and how he developed the company from a concept to an IPO and, undoubtedly, provide the audience with practical advice along the way.

Tavares founded Aquabotix after a thirty year career that has featured a variety of positions ranging from research and development at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), to Senior Vice President of Product Delivery at Fidelity Investments, to Senior Vice President of an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) company.

Admission is $20, SNEEF Alliance members $15, students and UMass Dartmouth students free.  Registration at www.sneef.org.  Contact SNEEF at info@SNEEF.org.
