June 2025 First Friday – Roy Altman – AI Humanities Greatest Ally or its Ultimate Threat

June 6, 2025 @ 7:30 am - 9:00 am

AI has undergone a remarkable evolution in recent years, advancing at an unprecedented pace—and it shows no signs of slowing down. But will AI become the ultimate tool to enhance human potential or will it lead to our obsolescence, reducing humanity to mere spectators or even subjects of its own creation?

In this presentation, we will journey through the history of AI, examining how it has reached its current state and where it is headed. We will explore AI’s potential to elevate human capabilities to superhuman levels while also considering the risks and ethical dilemmas that come with such power. Most importantly, we will discuss the safeguards necessary to ensure AI remains a force for good—one that empowers rather than endangers us.
