Framingham Geothermal Pilot Project – Apr 2024 First Friday

April 5 @ 7:30 am - 9:00 am

Ninety miles away from Cape Cod, Eversource is building a pilot project that could shape the way utility companies heat and cool homes and business throughout the country using geothermal energy.

And on Friday, April 5 at Cape Cod Community College, Eversource’s Nikki Bruno will detail how this project is taking a tried-and-true renewable energy source and using it in a novel way to power 32 residential and 5 commercial buildings in one neighborhood in Framingham.

“It’s wonderful to be working with so many great colleagues and to be on a great team as we think about viable energy solutions for our customers,” Nikki says of the project. “This is part of Eversource’s decarbonization strategy for the states we serve, and it will show what is possible and what is next for geothermal energy.”

About Nikki Bruno

Since 2020, Nikki Bruno has lent her expertise in energy and the environment to Eversource where she serves as its Vice President of Clean Technologies. Through her work, Nikki evaluates the feasibility of clean technologies, including geothermal energy, clean hydrogen, renewable natural gas, and methane reduction, and manages the development and execution of projects incorporating these technologies.

She plays a lead role in policy efforts regarding the future of natural gas and other strategic initiatives which help Eversource provide safe, reliable, cost-effective, clean energy solutions to meet customer needs.

She is the executive co-sponsor of Eversource’s Women’s Business Resource Group which celebrates and promotes women in energy across the company’s footprint.
