There is no doubt that we are all feeling the economic impact of the COVID19 pandemic. We have weathered severe recessions before, most recently the global financial crisis of 2008. Will the COVID19 recession be comparable to the aftermath of the 2008 collapse, and can we turn to the 2008 experience for guidance about the current economic outlook and the road to recovery? Here to explore these questions are Jim and Steve Tenaglia, veteran financial professionals with UBS who have been through 2008 and are now in the thick of advising their clients on how to protect themselves against negative financial impacts of COVID19.
Steve founded the Tenaglia Gardiner Wealth Management Group with his brother Mike in 1988 when he joined UBS. Steve is passionate about solving financial challenges, with a deep understanding of capital markets he provides sophisticated solutions and trusted advice you need. He has lived on Cape Cod since 1966. Steve and his wife Ann Marie have three grown children and together they currently reside in Marston’s Mills. They enjoy fishing and taking their boat to Sampson’s island, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.
Steve has been very active in the community over the years including: past chair of the Barnstable Recreation Commission, former Corporator for Cape Cod Hospital, and was a Founder and Board member for St. John Paul II High School for nearly two decades.
Jim focuses on providing sophisticated wealth planning and investment management strategies to affluent individuals, families, nonprofit organizations and small business owners. Jim began his career in the financial services industry in 2015 when he joined UBS in his fathers practice. Together, they guide clients through retirement planning, education funding, 401k management, liability management and insurance needs.
Prior to UBS he worked for Siemens Energy Inc. managing the construction and commissioning of power plants around the globe. He graduated from Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a B.S. in facilities engineering and earned a M.S. in Project Management from Northeastern University. Outside the office, Jim has been active in a number of organizations in the community including the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, Big Brother Big Sister of the Cape and Islands and the Barnstable Recreation and Community Preservation committees. Jim and his wife, Callie, a labor and delivery nurse live in Centerville with their two dogs. They enjoy boating the waters of Cape Cod and traveling.
