CCTC Annual Dinner & Meeting

The connected home and home automation technology will be the subject of the keynote speech at the 2014 annual meeting of the Cape Cod Technology Council on Thursday, April 17.  The event, beginning at 5:30 p.m., will be held at Alberto’s Ristorante in downtown Hyannis and include hot and cold appetizers, a cash bar, and a three-course dinner buffet with chicken, seafood, meat, and pasta choices. The cocktail hour will feature music by the Bert Jackson Quartet.

James Carroll, the co-founder and now Executive Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Business Development for Hyannis-based Savant Systems LLC, will address how technology is automating and integrating a variety of functions at home and in corporate environments.  Savant Systems designs and develops a suite of integrated solutions for residential and commercial automation. Savant’s software platform is designed to deliver control, efficiency, security and simplicity for today’s connected home.

Mr. Carroll previously was Executive Vice President and General Manager of Savant’s Residential Business Unit and President of Savant Systems. In 2001 Mr. Carroll founded uBix which developed a server-based home automation product and in 2002, he founded AViX, a luxury home technology integration company.  AViX sold and installed high complexity home automation systems for large homes and small businesses. AViX was acquired in 2005 by 886 Ventures, the holding company of Savant Systems.

From 1998-2001, Mr. Carroll was Executive Vice President & General Manager for Lucent Technology/Excel Switching where he lead the Internet Telephony Service Provider Softswitch (VOIP) Product Group. Prior to 1998, Mr. Carroll’s technology management background included serving as Director of Research and Development for Brite Voice Systems and Vice President of Engineering at Excel Switching Corporation. Earlier Mr. Carroll held various engineering, quality assurance and management positions with Boston Technology, Unitrode, ZTEL, Voicetek, and Wang Laboratories.

Tickets for the annual meeting are $60 for council members and $65 for non-members. Register below.
Registration deadline: April 13, 2014
Registrations will be accepted after the deadline on a space available basis. The rate after the deadline will be $70 for members and $75 for guests.
