Grades 6 and up July 30 – August 3 10 am – 12 pm
Create, draw, and animate your own character!
Students will learn techniques used by professional cartoonists, illustrators, and animators. After creating their own characters, students will make a model sheet of their character, animate their character, and create a comic book cover or movie poster. Students can take home all drawings and a digital file of their animation at the end of the class.

The cost of this 5-day workshop is $120, including all supplies and a one-year Media Center membership. Scholarships are available.
About the Instructor: John Sullivan
Inducted into the National Teacher Hall of Fame in 2004, John Sullivan is well known on the Cape for his elaborate musicals staged with Barnstable High School for 30 years. Mr. Sullivan is a trained animator who attended CALARTS, a school Walt Disney himself set up to train animators. Mr. Sullivan also worked on the animated movie “The Pagemaster.” He is currently an Artist in Residence at the Cape Cod Community Media Center, and produces a television show for kids called “Quahog Corner.”
