Towards a Greener Future
Join Avangrid Outreach Manager Rachel Martin at our final First Friday of 2024 with a talk about the important work her company is doing to pioneer a cleaner, brighter energy future for our community. She will:
- Provide an overview of Avangrid’s current offshore wind projects along the East Coast as well as the company’s broader renewable portfolio;
- Provide an overview of the ISO-New England grid system, statewide clean energy goals, and the role of offshore wind within those goals; and
- Provide a snapshot of new technologies being used across offshore wind, from construction to long-term operations and maintenance.
About Rachel Martin
Rachel Martin manages outreach and public affairs for Avangrid’s offshore wind projects within Massachusetts.
With over a decade of experience in public-facing roles, Rachel has worked across state and local government as well as the nonprofit space in marketing and community affairs.
Previously, Rachel served as the Operations and Constituent Services Director to Massachusetts State Senator Julian Cyr, who represents Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket, after working on his inaugural campaign.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Northeastern University and has completed the Massachusetts Clean Energy Extension program in offshore wind at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
